Dr. Elaine Lehane is a College Lecturer and Director of Postgraduate Programmes at the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing and Midwifery, University College Cork. She is

a registered general nurse and has practiced in the areas of neuro-medicine and renal care. Her key research interests are in the areas of chronic illness management (specifically adherence to therapeutic regimens in chronic conditions and supportive care strategies for cancer survivors) and instrument development/ psychometric evaluation processes . Principal teaching scholarship interests include approaches to teaching evidence based practice and interdisciplinary teaching and learning. Dr Lehane has led and/or actively contributed to national research projects including  the development of the National Irish Hospice Foundation guidance document on Medication Management for people with Dementia,  the Nursing & Midwifery National Turnover Study, the National Cystic Fibrosis Depression & Anxiety Study and the Teaching of Evidence Based Practice Across the Health Professionals in Ireland.
