Dr. Sara Armstrong is a Research Fellow working at University College Cork, Ireland. Following her bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, she was then awarded a PhD in Electrical Engineering in the area of Photovoltaics. Sara began work in the MaREI Renewable Energy Ireland in University College Cork in 2011. Her areas of work mostly includes ocean energy dynamic modelling for power systems modelling to assess the power quality impact of connecting ocean energy to the electrical grid, power take-off testing and design, and grid integration of renewable energies. She is also a Project Team member of the IEC PT 62600-30, writing a Technical Specifications for Electrical power quality requirements for wave, tidal and other water current energy converters.
