Sophie Power

Sophie is a graduate of UCC with a BA in Geography and History and an MSc in Applied Coastal and Marine Management from the Department of Geography. 
She joined the Environmental Research Institute's MaREI Centre in 2015 and works with the Governance and Earth Observation thematic groups on research and communications.
Projects in which Sophie is currently engaged: 
  • SAFI - Generating satellite derived decision support services for our aquaculture and fisheries sectors (EU FP7)
  • Ireland's Climate Adaptation Platform (EPA) - Scoping Case Studies of climate adaptation to use as a training and decision support tool for local authorities in developing local adaptation strategies. 
  • Outreach and Communication - National Ocean Literacy Network founding member
