I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Public Health and Health Promotion from University College Cork in 2008, the first and only undergraduate degree in this speciality established in Ireland. Following this I completed a Masters in Public Health specialising in Advanced Epidemiology and Biostatistics in University College Cork receiving a first class honours and ranking 2nd in my class of 42. I subsequently received a Health Research Board (HRB) Ireland scholarship to undertake a 4-year  structured PhD in Health Services Research (2010-2014), where I was awarded the 'Shani Rushin Memorial Award' for obtaining the highest grades in year one course modules in my cohort. My PhD research focussed on the impact of caesarean section on subsequent pregnancy outcome specifically stillbirth, miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy and used the renowned Danish registry data. Currently I have just taken up a position as Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Irish Centre for Fetal and Neonatal Translational Research (INFANT) with Professor Louise Kenny and Dr. Ali Khashan. I also recently received a HRB Cochrane Fellowship to undertake a Cochrane Review on 'Different Insulin Regimens for Pregnant Women with Pre-existing Diabetes'.
