  - Sonas Productions presents Ceol ón gCroí, a series of music documentaries that follows some of Ireland's most noted singer/song-writers as they each compose a specially commissioned song defining various events and movements in Ireland's history. We see top musicians like John Spillane, Pauline Scanlan, Alan Burke, Karan Casey, Ciarán Ó Gealbháin and Áine Uí Cheallaigh celebrate, through their music, particular events in Irish history that have inspired them and many other musicians before them.  Using music that already exists as a source of inspiration, it will be interesting to see how each singer chooses to interpret and develop their composition that will include themes such as The Famine and 1916 Easter Rising. The historical narrative and present-day interpretation of each subject will be told through interviews, location filming with musical performance and archive footage. Each journey finishes with our lead musician unveiling his or her new work and performing it in a way of his or her own choosing.  Other key contributors include Andy Irvine, Roisin White, Dick Gaughan, Seamus Begley, Johnny McCarthy and Seán Tyrell to name but a few. Ceol ón gCroí is produced by Sonas Productions for TG4 with funding from the Irish Language Broadcast Fund. Léiríonn Sonas Productions 'Ceol ón gCroí', sraith nua cheoil ina leanaimid scoth na gceoltóirí Éireannacha agus iad i mbun amhrán speisialta a chumadh a chuireann síos ar imeachtaí agus scéaltaí ar leith i stair na hÉireann. Déanann ceoltóirí cailiúla mar John Spillane, Pauline Scanlan, Alan Burke, Karan Casey, Ciarán Ó Gealbháin agus Áine Uí Cheallaigh ceiliúradh ar imeachtaí stairiúla a dtéann go mór i bhfeidhm orthu, mar shampla An Gorta Mór agus Éirí Amach na Cásca 1916. Mar thobar ionspioráide, breathnaíonn siad ar cheoil atá cumtha ag ceoltóirí éagsúla cheana féin agus forbraíonn siad amhrán ar na téamaí sin. Inseofar agus míneofar an scéal stairiúil seo fríd agallaimh, ceol agus cartlanna físiúla agus ag deireadh achan chlár, cloisimid na píosaí ceoil úra. I measc na gceoltóirí eile a bhéas le feiceáil sa tsraith beidh Andy Irvine, Roisin White, Dick Gaughan, Seamus Begley, Johnny McCarthy and Seán Tyrell. Léiríodh Ceol ón gCroí ag Sonas Productions do TG4 le maoiniú ón Chiste Craoltóireachta Gaeilge.
