Biography:
Dr. Mary O' Shaughnessy is a lecturer in the Department of Food Business & Development and a researcher with the Centre for Co-operative Studies, University College Cork. She holds a BA Degree in Geography & Sociology, an MSc (Co-operative Organisation, Food Marketing & Rural Development), and a Higher Diploma in Education. She was awarded a PhD by the National University of Ireland for her study of the survival strategies of rural based social enterprises. Her research interests include rural development, social and cooperative enterprises.
