Biography:

Originally from Leixlip, Co. Kildare, I completed my BSc in Experimental and Mathematical Physics in St. Patrick's College Maynooth in 1990.  I then studied for an MSc by research on hydrogen-electron collisions and was awarded my MSc in 1992.  In 1994 I completed my Docteur en Physique from the Universite Paris-Nord on atom interferometry using hydrogen.  I then embarked on a postdoctoral tour working in the University of Innsbruck, The University of Melbourne and the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics, Munich before returning to Ireland in 2000.  Since 2006 I am employed as a lecturer in the Physics Department, University College Cork.
