Mark John Jessopp

Biography

Dr Mark Jessopp is a Lecturer in Zoology in the School of Biological, Earth & Environmental Science, UCC. Mark is a marine biologist with a wide array of research experience, having worked on phytoplankton, zooplankton, marine mammals, and seabirds. 

Mark completed his BSc (Hons) in Zoology at the University of Melbourne, Australia, and PhD at University College Cork, Ireland. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher for a number of years before joining the School of BEES in 2018. Current  research  effort  focuses  on  the  role  of  seals  and  seabirds  in  the  marine  ecosystem  through  diet  and  telemetry  studies.
