The LimeSurvey package lets you create online surveys or questionnaires to gather data for your research. You can publish your survey for people to fill in online, or print it as a PDF to administer manually. You can download the data at any stage as a CSV file or in Word, Excel, or SPSS format for analysis.
This replaces the earlier phpESP survey system. Full documentation of LimeSurvey is available online.

3. Tips
We'll start publishing more advice and tips from users as we gather momentum.
If you are using a Mac, do not use Safari for managing your survey: the LimeSurvey software uses facilities that Safari cannot handle. Download and install FireFox instead and use that.
If you are doing a survey applicable both to staff and to students (or to some other groupings), don't forget to add a question asking which category the subject is in. It's not possible to tell this automatically in an online environment.
